Researchers at PADRI have partnered with Colleagues at the School of Economics, Makerere University to investigate the Gender differences in the COVID-19 effects on food security among the urban poor and the adaptive strategies that have been used by this group. The study is being conducted among the urban poor in Kampala (Uganda) and Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania). It involves a household survey of 500-700 households and focus group discussions and In-depth interviews with selected vulnerable groups (e.g. widows, unemployed and elderly). The study is funded by Environment for Development (EfD) Global Hub, Sweden, through the Makerere University EfD Center. Duration: 2021 – 2022.
